Official Press Release Information Below

News Release - And Now, A Personalised Fiesta Van

The Ford Fiesta was first introduced in September 1976 and already over 1,500,000 units have been built.

The Fiesta light van was first marketed in Britain in March 1978 and has since found increasing popularity with the service industries for the economical delivery of low volume goods in areas of high traffic density.

Ford Rallye Sport parts division has concentrated on the development of the Fiesta car as a prime contender in the field of competitive events and the result of this development can now be shared by the owner of any Fiesta light van, wishing to transform his vehicle from the basic "L" specification into an impressive, highly personalised mode of transport.

A complete range of bolt-on equipment is available from all Rallye Sport dealers to modify the performance, general handling and outward appearance of any Fiesta derivative.

The amount of modification made to any vehicle is at the total discretion of the owner, who may purchase parts either in separate kit form or as a total package.

Examples of the range of equipment available are as follows:
  • 6 x 13 alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli 185 x 60 HR 13 P6 tyres
  • Large diameter brake discs with competition pads and linings
  • A suspension kit which reduces dive under extreme braking and maintains camber angles
  • Bilstein gas struts with uprated springs
  • Heavy duty engine mounts with extra bracing for the vacuum brake servo
  • A twin-choke carburettor kit with four branch exhaust and modified unlet manifold which increases power by up to 20 per cent
  • A total range of engine and transmission modifications designed to improve performance and increase longevity, culminating in a complete uprating of engine capacity to 1599cc with close ratio gearboxes
Changes to the external appearance of the vehicle can be achieved with wheelarch trims and front and rear air spoilers, together with body side striping. Interior options include a leather trimmed four-spoke steering wheel and luxury seats.

Added to these accessories is the full range of Motorcraft parts which includes extra lights, air horns, fire extinguishers, stereo radio/cassette players with specially designed consoles, tool kits and floor mats.

The choice and variations of application are almost endless, but, together combine to make a vehicle that will always attract extra attention.
