Better Specs For Ford's Winning Baby
Having notched up its first half a million sales faster than any other car before it, been the first complete vehicle to receive an award from the Design Council and achieved a faster sales rate than the combined figures of its rivals, the Fiesta is already another Ford success story. Improvements and realignments for 1979 include the replacement of the high-compression 957 cc engine by the 1117 cc one on base models, the deletion of the low-compression 957 cc unit from the L specification car and the addition of a rear wash/wipe system as standard for L and S models. From now on the Fiesta S will also have a pushbutton radio.
