1978 DESIGN COUNCIL AWARDS - FORD MOTOR COMPANY LIMITED - BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY
The Ford Fiesta merited a Design Council award becuase the design embraced, as a matter of policy, a detailed and calculated attempt to reduce the maintenance and repair costs of the small family car.
The Fiesta is the result of a design team putting cost of ownership and ease of maintenance high on its list of priorities.
