News Release - Ford Fiesta Supersport
A distinctive "super-sporting" appearance marks Ford's latest special edition model, based on the Fiesta 1300cc "S" and named the Fiesta Supersport, which goes on sale today.
The car's well-known sporting performance and handling is backed up on this new model, of which only 3000 will be built, with the fitting of a number of exterior features. These include black polyurethane front and rear spoilers and wheelarch extensions, 6 in. x 13 in. RS alloy wheels and low profile 185/60 tyres which combine to improve still further the Fiesta's aerodynamic qualities and roadholding.
The Fiesta Supersport is finished in black, white, Ford Sunburst red or metallic Strato silver, with the radiator grille in matching body colour. Equipment includes front driving lamps, with over-riders, and a remote control driver's door mirror which can be adjusted from inside the car is an option. Distinctive body-side and rear tailgate decals add to its sporting appearance.
The interior is equipped with luxurious, fully-adjustable Ghia seats, with the availability of head restraints.
In addition, two special option packs are available with the car. The first of these, called the "Executive" pack, consists of a removable glass sunroof, a mono radio/stereo cassette player and headlamp washers: the other, designated a "climate control" pack, comprises tinted window glass, a "gradient-tinted" windscreen (darker at the top, lighter at the bottom), and opening front quarter vents.
