Timeline
1977 - Project Bobcat 2 underway with the result being Ford's first front driver, the MK1 Fiesta.
1981 - With the dawning of the hot-hatch revolution. Ford launches the Mk1 Fiesta XR2 onto the high street.
1983 - The largest amount of XR2s were sold in the UK, with over 11,000 units leaving Ford showrooms.
1984 - Fiesta is facelifted with the Mkll, Mk1 XR2 production ends in 1983.
