- A pair of hands to stop the roof vibrating helps while cutting the panel out. It takes guts to cut a hole in a nearty new roof
- With the panel removed, you can see where the paper has been used to hold the headlining clear of the jigsaw blade while cutting
- A powerful vacuum cleaner was used to suck up all the swarf. A piece of felt was sandwiched in this roof - we just ripped ft out
- The vinyl roof was next. We glued half at a time - back half first. With the front in position, two people can roll the vinyl back
- Making sure that the vinyl is taught but not overstretched, the edges can be stuck down with some shaped hardboard
- About half an inch overlap is allowed at the front and this is tucked into the rubber screen surround. Use a sharp knife to trim
- We removed the back hatch on the Fiesta and the vinyl was folded back under the door frame and cut so it followed the concave contour
- Once the vinyl was cut round the edge of the hole, the headlining - which was cut with a ½" overlap - was stuck back as shown here
